PRESS: Govt wants to use AI for psychoanalysis by social media

MOSCOW, Nov 29 (PRIME) -- The Russian government is interested in using artificial intelligence (AI) to analyze psychological state of the people by their accounts in social networks, business daily Kommersant reported on Monday.

Ivannikov Institute for System Programming of the Russian Academy of Sciences received an undisclosed grant for this purpose from the government’s Analytical Center and announced a 36 million ruble tender to conduct a research on options of the AI use for psychological diagnostics of a person by social media.

The results of the tender will be announced later on Monday. The winner is to do the work by September 1, 2024.

In the tender documents, the customer said that the expansion of the technologies using digital traces to analyze a person “opens wide opportunities of personality assessment and prediction of their behavior without psychological tests requiring voluntary consent.”
